We are looking for a highly capable, organized, and bilingual Program Specialist based in South Korea or Japan to help us design, vet, and implement enriching, faculty-led university study abroad programs across East Asia.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between academic logistics and on-the-ground execution. Our focus is entirely on curriculum-driven, experiential faculty-led programs. You will have direct ownership over sourcing educational site visits, vetting vendors, and optimizing academic itineraries. Additionally, when student cohorts are actively on the ground, you will step into a field role, acting as a Program Leader or Assistant. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to scale your career in the international education sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic & Curricular Sourcing: Identify and secure high-quality guest speakers, professional organization site visits, specialized lecturers, and academic venues that directly align with diverse US university curricula.
- On-the-Ground Leadership: Serve as an active Program Leader or Assistant while university groups are in-country: managing daily logistics, assisting faculty, guiding students, and acting as the main point of contact for local operations.
- Presentations & Webinars: Conduct educational webinars and professional presentations for university faculty, institutional staff, and internal teams to showcase regional program offerings and operational insights.
- Marketing & Outreach Support: Assist with regional marketing initiatives and university outreach efforts to build brand awareness and promote upcoming faculty-led program portfolios.
- Vendor Sourcing & Negotiation: Independently source, vet, and negotiate contracts with reliable local vendors (accommodations, private transport networks, and group dining) across both South Korea and Japan that meet strict university standards.
- Itinerary Optimization: Review proposed faculty-led itineraries to provide expert feedback on daily pacing, transit feasibility, and academic scheduling realities within both countries.
- Cross-Border Coordination: Serve as a bilingual liaison between partners, vendors, and local institutions in both South Korea and Japan to ensure successful program execution.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Conduct physical on-site evaluations of hotels, classrooms, and field sites to ensure they meet strict institutional safety, risk management, and accessibility standards.
- Operational Flexibility: Perform other administrative, logistical, or programmatic duties as assigned to support organizational growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Relations, or a related field.
- English Proficiency: Fully fluent (written and spoken) to communicate clearly with international teams, deliver presentations, and support US university faculty.
- Local Language Requirement: Native or professional-grade fluency in Korean and Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing) is required to successfully manage partners, local authorities, and cross-border vendor negotiations. Proficiency in both languages is highly desirable.
- Residency: Must be currently living and legally authorized to work in South Korea.
- Experience & Leadership Skills: Foundational experience or a strong interest in international education, higher education administration, or experiential student group coordination. Must possess the communication and leadership presence needed to host webinars and guide university groups in the field.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency with standard office tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel/Word) and comfort utilizing project management tracking software.
Note to Applicants: Please confirm your legal right to work in South Korea and your fluency levels in English, Korean, and Japanese in your application.
